The CPS International - Center for Peace and Spirituality, as is apparent from its name, is an organization, which aims to promote and reinforce the culture of peace through mind-based spirituality. The centre was set up in January 2001 by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan to spread the message of peace and spirituality. Non-profit-making, non-political in character, it engages in peace and interfaith efforts, drawing inspiration from the Islamic Scriptures, the Quran and Hadith, based on peace, tolerance and co-existence to reveal the true face of Islam.
At CPS we believe that peace and spirituality both are in fact two aspects of the one truth. Positive thinking at an individual level is called spirituality; when this positive thinking reaches a collective level in society, it results in what is known as peace. Under Maulana Wahiduddin Khan’s patronage, the center aims to share spiritual wisdom and convey the message of peace and spirituality to mankind. Through
CPS International and its global partners, Maulana is re-engineering the minds of individuals with the objective of training them in the principles of peace and spirituality so as to enable them to construct a positive personality in themselves.
At CPS, we realize that establishing world peace is the # 1 priority as it is the only way to achieve everything positive and therefore a crucial factor for human survival. We however feel that simply making appeals in support of peace or bombing terrorist hideouts will not establish peace. The fact is that the terrorism of the present age is different from that of the former times. Today, it is not a matter of who has the more sophisticated, and lethal technology; it is more a matter of technology versus ideology, for terrorism has a complete ideology of violence — although false and of its own making — to support it. Realizing that terrorism will persist in one form or another until the ideology of violence is replaced with an ideology of peace, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan has developed a full-fledged Ideology of Peace, derived directly from the Islamic Scriptures. CPS along with its global partners is making major peace efforts with the aim of giving a practical model to peace at an ideological level and training people based on its principles so as to replace the culture of violence with the mentality of peace. The centre undertakes inter-faith efforts to remove misconceptions about Islam to reveal it as a religion of peace.
At CPS, we believe that as it is man’s mind that differentiates him from the rest of the creation. Therefor, it can only be through the development of his mind that man can attain true spirituality. Based on this, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan has developed a full-fledged Ideology of Spiritualty, based on contemplation – derived directly from the Islamic Scriptures. CPS International and its global partners are undertaking Spirituality Efforts and imparting spiritual wisdom, based on the principles of life as enshrined in the Quran.
In the activities organized by CPS, Maulana addresses spiritual and world leaders, creative minds, intellectuals, seekers and the youth so as to make them understand the importance of peace and spirituality. Through the further interactive sessions, they are trained based on the principles of life so as to bring about a spiritual and intellectual revolution in them. This is done by replacing the negativity and violence in their minds with peace and spirituality - thus becoming spiritual people. At CPS we believe that when individuals such as these are created in large numbers, it will form a peaceful society.
The CPS Vision through the Ambassadors of Peace and Spiritualtiy is to undertake interfaith, peace and spirituality efforts and to explain the purpose of life to seekers so that the message of God enters each and every home in the world.
