Two Joys for A Fasting Person

We have various kinds of desires in ourselves and we also have complete freedom. There are various kinds of things of the world toward which a person runs out of greed and selfishness. The test of a person in this world is to lead a life of fasting. Fasting is a symbol of the present life and iftar (breaking of the fast at sunset) is a symbol of the life Hereafter. Fasting is a symbol of the present life and iftar (breaking of the fast at sunset) is a symbol of the life Hereafter. In this world, a person has to live as a fasting person. What is the meaning of a fasting person? It is to abstain from fulfilment of desires and not misuse one's freedom. For this, we will be rewarded in the Hereafter.

According to a hadith, there are two joys for a fasting person: first, when he breaks his fast at sunset, and the second when he receives reward for his fasting with God in the Hereafter. Reflecting on this, I understood that fasting and iftar are very big reminders of life. Fasting tells us that our life has two phases or periods. The first phase is the fasting period and the second is the reward period. In the present world, we need to lead a life of fasting. In the Hereafter, we will receive the reward for this life of fasting. This present life is the 'fasting period', while the life Hereafter is the 'reward period'. This is why one of the joys for a fasting person is his reward with God. This is the real, eternal joy. God has placed all kinds of things in this world.

It is to abstain from fulfilment of desires and not misuse one's freedom. For this, we will be rewarded in the Hereafter. There we will have no restrictions and no compulsions. This is the purpose of fasting.
In this sense, fasting is an international reminder for a person. Every year it reminds us about the reality of life and how we should spend our lives in the world so that we achieve success in this world and the Hereafter.
