In the form of the Prophet, God gave us a person who is a model for us. Now since God's word and the Prophet's life have been preserved, we have to only follow these two sources. This is why a new prophet is not needed today. Now we only need to perform the work that the Prophet used to perform.
The revelations received by the previous prophets could not be preserved and were hence lost. For the first time in the history of prophethood, the revelation from God got preserved in its original form. Now we do not need a prophet. We now have to read the Quran to understand religion, do planning and understand the role of the Prophet. Since God's word has been preserved, there is no need for a prophet on whom God would send down revelations. This is why God declared the Prophet (saw) as the Final Prophet.
The Prophet said: "There will be no prophet after me." (Sunan Abi Dawud 4252) Now we do not need the person of the prophet anymore, because God's word has been preserved. Along with this, through the Propeht's life (saw) divine character has been established. God's word, in the form of the Quran, and the life of the Prophet have been recorded. We learn about divine character through the life of the Prophet. This has also been preserved. According to God's plan, the Prophet had a very eventful life. Jesus was also a prophet of God, but he did not have an eventful life. But the Prophet faces all kinds of eventful situations in his life. I have written two books on this: The Prophet of Revolution and A Study of the Prophet's Life. Both have been translated from Urdu into English.
There is no aspect of life for which we do not find guidance in the life of the Prophet. In the form of the Prophet, God gave us a person who is a model for us. We do not have to become prophets, because a prophet is directly appointed by God. If a person claims that he is prophet, then this is false. This is because a prophet is appointed by God. Prophethood has thus come to an end. But the task of the Prophet continues even today.
