An important teaching of Islam is called iraz in the Quran. We can define it as tolerance or to ignore. This is very important. The Quran says in Surah al-Araf: وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِينَ (7:199) “Avoid the ignorant.” The Prophet asked him the meaning of avoiding the ignorant. The angel Gabriel came to the Prophet. Gabriel replied that he would ask his Lord and then answer. He did not respond immediately. He said he would ask God and then reply. He left the place and returned later after having asked. God said: أَنْ تَعْفُوَ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَكَ , وَتُعْطِيَ مَنْ حَرَمَكَ , وَتَصِلَ مَنْ قَطَعَكَ. (Tafsir Abdul Razzaq, v. 2, p. 105) These were the three words he uttered. The verse revealed in the Quran is giving you an injunction from God: Forgive the one who wrongs you, give to those who deprive you and join hands with those who break away from you. These are the three teachings. These are very important for an Islamic life.
