A person told me that he met a businessman and spoke to him about religion. That businessman was already following religion. He would participate in ceremonies, functions and cultural activities. The person who met him said this was not religion. These were only superficial things. The businessman asked: Why do you want to go deep into the matter? At the same time, he went deep into his income tax papers. He wanted to understand income tax issues by deep study. But in matters of religion, he didn’t want to go in depth. This means in the matter of income tax, he was completely sincere. But in religious matters he was not sincere. This is the duality which people have. If you want to understand matters with reason, you must have sincerity. The culture prevalent in our society these days is, Enjoy life. A society in which the majority has the mindset of enjoying life will be lacking in sincerity. If they want to enjoy life, their sincerity will be gone. Sincerity is the name of deep thinking. Sincere people would never say, Enjoy life. They will say, Discover life. Their formula is: Discover life. Understand life, God's creation plan and go into the depth of matters.  Enjoy life is the formula of those who see things superficially. They don’t use reason nor do they have objective thinking and sincerity. This is the state of people in society these days. The first thing required is sincerity and true spirit of enquiry.
