14. The Greatest Gift in Life

The Prophet of Islam (SAW) said: “Fear Allah regarding women.” (Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 1905)

In another narration, he said: “Nothing in this world is more valuable than a righteous wife.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 1855)

By the very nature of his creation, a man is an incomplete personality. His personality becomes complete through his companionship with a woman. The same is true of a woman. Without one another, both remain incomplete; together, they complement each other. This is a reality that every man and woman can understand through personal experience.

From this perspective, companionship between a man and a woman is an essential part of life. Yet no external force can compel them to preserve this relationship. This is why consciousness of God is necessary for maintaining their mutual bond. In other words, the success of this companionship depends on both partners remaining aware of its fundamental importance. God-consciousness awakens and sustains this awareness, enabling them to preserve their relationship even when circumstances are difficult or unfavourable.
