6. The Best Woman
Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet of Islam was asked, “What qualities make a woman an ideal wife?” He replied, “She is one whose presence brings joy to her husband, who cooperates with him in what is right, and who respects his legitimate wishes in personal matters and in matters concerning his property.” (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith No. 7421)
In its broader sense, this teaching applies to both spouses. Man and woman are life partners, bound together by mutual trust and responsibility. Each is a confidant and helper to the other—two wheels of the same carriage.
Their shared humanity requires that both should be true companions to each other: bringing joy, showing mutual consideration, and remaining loyal even when apart.
Each person should treat the other as a sincere life partner—with love, respect, and steadfast goodwill.
