18. The Godly Life

The Quran declares:

“To whoever does good deeds, man or woman, and is a believer, We shall assuredly give a good life; and We will bestow upon them their reward according to the best of their works.” (Quran, 16:97)

This verse clearly demonstrates that, in God’s view, men and women are equal. The measure of a person’s worth lies in their righteousness and good deeds. For every individual, God’s mercy in this world and salvation in the Hereafter are governed by the same principle—the principle of righteous conduct, not gender. God’s justice and recompense are based solely on conduct and character, not on sex or social status.
